Our Story
KLSings was founded in 2011 by Cheryl Teh with a simple but powerful vision: to share the joy of group singing and create communities connected through music.
From the very beginning, our goals have been to:
Promote joy
Promote the joy of group singing by forming community choirs in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, and beyond.
Build communities
Build communities through song, bringing people together across ages and backgrounds.
Encourage singing
Encourage singing and musical activities as an accessible and enjoyable pastime.
Raise awareness
Raise awareness of the many benefits of singing through workshops, events, and performances.

Although KLSings was founded in 2011, the group remained “quiet” for several years while Cheryl focused on her corporate career and served as the voluntary Chairperson and Choir Director of The Philharmonic Society of Selangor (until 2018).
Since 2019, KLSings has been steadily growing into a vibrant community where music, friendship, and well-being come together. Today, we continue to welcome singers, especially older adults, to discover the power of music, connection, and joy.
